Clinical Validation Workshop: Advancing Healthcare with AI4LUNGS Stakeholders

On the 7th of February, the AI4LUNGS hosted the Clinical Validation Workshop, bringing together around 25 experts from the healthcare, AI sectors, and a diverse field to refine and enhance the innovative AI-based system for lung disease diagnosis the project is developing. This interactive workshop ensures the technology is developed aligning with the needs of physicians and patients.

Expert Insights Shaping AI for Healthcare

During the workshop, the presenter of AI4LUNGS from INESC TEC prepared 5 questions for the clinical experts to provide their feedback and insights. Discussions focused not only on the potential of AI-driven tools but also on key challenges such as patient privacy, behavioral patterns, and risk management. Addressing these concerns is essential to ensure that AI solutions are secure, ethical, and patient-centered.

The clinicians also touched on the practical sides of the use of the tool, on how it would be more convenient for a clinician to access the data and resources. AI4LUNGS is excited to advance the development with the insights coming from one of the project’s end-users.

A Collaborative Effort for a Healthier Future

The workshop reinforced the importance of collaboration between medical professionals, AI experts, and healthcare stakeholders. By integrating real-world feedback, AI4LUNGS is committed to developing an AI-powered system that aligns with clinical needs, ultimately improving patient outcomes and supporting physicians in making accurate and timely diagnosis.
